A Sense of The expressive artworks of thirty North Shore artists will accompany the twelve striking prints that were produced for the Visions project by renowned artists Ross Penhall, Bonnie Jordan, Wayne Eastcott, Joan Smith, Setsuko Piroche, Pierre Coupey, Jennifer Judge, Jean Morrison, Taiga Chiba, Xwa Lack Tun (Rick Harry), Damian George (Stalaston), and Arnold Shives. Through their art, these artists will share their spirited stories and meaningful memories about the twelve North Shore sites chosen for their natural and cultural significance. The resulting works inspired by these sites range diversely from conceptual-oriented installations using found objects to breathtaking oil paintings precisely rendered in a photo-realist manner. And that isn't all. Along with the artwork, the gallery will also be providing an interactive "memory w a l l " for the entire North Shore community to commemorate its special connections to these places. These connections will be accepted in the form of a picture, story, or poem, and can be submitted to the gallery at any time before or during the exhibition. The North Vancouver Community Arts Council will also be at Park Royal mall soliciting these pictures and stones from the North Shore community. Moreover, the Arts Council will be taking photographic portraits at malls in West Vancouver of individuals wishing to be part of that collective memory. Another exhibit to anticipate in CityScape's spring season is a solo retrospective of internationally celebrated puppet-design artist Arlyn Coad. Talking Hands Puppetry together with Oregon Shadow will be putting on puppet-making work- shops in the gallery, and performances by Coad Canada Puppets Puppetry Theatre will take place along- side the exhibition at the Presentation House Theatre.
