Some of the books I will bring are Chrysanthemum, by K e v i n H e n k e s ; Big Whiskers Saves' the Gove Erin's B o o k Bag: Big Whiskers Saves the Cove, by T r e v o r C a r o l a n , is a b o u t a seal that lives in D e e p C o v e a n d is a f r i e n d t o f o u r c h i l d r e n w h o also live t h e r e . Big W h i s k e r s helps the c h i l d r e n solve a mystery w h e n the water b e c o m e s polluted. a, 15 K K < 22 T h e p a r t o f t h e b o o k I like best w a s w h e n Big W h i s k e r s j u m p e d o u t o f t h e w a t e r b e c a u s e t h e c o l o u r s in t h e p i c t u r e w e r e s o beautiful. I like b o o k s that have m y s t e r i e s t o solve. If I w e r e t o s t o p r e a d i n g in t h e m i d d l e of the story, I w o u l d want to keep g o i n g t o find o u t h o w t h e s t o r y ends. T h e pictures remind me of the b e a c h at C a t e s Park. I like t o g o b e a c h c o m b i n g t h e r e . I have f o u n d d e a d fish lying o n t h e s a n d a n d many live starfish. I like t o l o o k u n d e r Mrs.Armitage on Wheels, by Q u e n t i n Blake: Sweet O r e o m Pie, by A u d r e y W o o d and M a r k Teague; The Rabbit Inn, by P a t i e n c e B r e w s t e r : Mortimer e n o u g h t o k n o w w h a t t o d o . I really like h o w t h e p i c t u r e s s h o w t h e beauty o f n a t u r e and t h e different shades o f c o l o u r u s e d . I also liked that it is a b o u t f o u r f r i e n d s that w o r k e d t o g e t h e r t o solve a p r o b l e m . I think p o l l u t i o n is really bad b e c a u s e it ruins n a t u r e by m a k i n g e v e r y t h i n g l o o k ugly and kills animals and plants. I really like h o w t h e happy p i c t u r e s w e r e brightly c o l o u r e d a n d t h e sad p i c t u r e s w e r e gray and gloomy. T h e w a t e r l o o k e d beautiful w h e n Big Mooner, by Frank B. E d w a r d s and J o h n Bianchi: and Arthur's Tooth, by M a r c Brown. M y b r o t h e r C h a r l i e , w h o is six years o l d , also likes b o o k s . I will b r i n g along s o m e b o o k s that I can read t o h i m . H i s favourites are Edward the Pirates, by D a v i d M c P h a i l ; and Grandma and the Pirates, by P h o e b e G i l m a n ; and A Sea Full of Sharks, by Betsy Maestro. Kamilah's B o o k Bag: In bigWhiskers Saves the Cove, I t h o u g h t it was e x c i t i n g w h e n Big W h i s k e r s d i s c o v e r e d the sludge c o m ing f r o m the pipe and was s m a r t W h i s k e r s w a s j u m p i n g but l o o k e d ugly a n d gray w h e n it w a s p o l l u t e d . I like C a t e s P a r k b e c a u s e it is easy t o find all kinds of i n t e r e s t i n g shells and sea life. I f o u n d a b o n e o n c e and I like h o w t h e g o o e y d u c k s s q u i r t my legs. I f o u n d a really neat cave in C a t e s Park w h e r e I can read this s u m m e r . W h e n I go, I w i l l take t h e s e b o o k s w i t h m e : The M a g i c Treehouse s e r i e s , b e c a u s e they're easy t o read and are i n t e r e s t i n g a d v e n t u r e s a b o u t t w o c h i l d r e n w h o go t o different places o r i n t o t h e past; and Anne of Creen Cables, b e c a u s e it's such a beautiful s t o r y w i t h sad and happy parts and gives m e an idea a b o u t w h a t life was like in the past.
