award night T Luhe second annual FANS Award Night was a huge success which saw the figures for both the attendance and funds raised increase signili cantly over last year's numbers. The evening was held at the Squamish Nation Recreation Centre and included a lively auction, run by auctioneer Brad Scott, a variety of North Shore entertainers in performance, an art show and. of course, the presentation of the FANS Award. Fit' Femandes. were shown to the audience and at the end of the four profiles, everybody in the audience was impressed with the incredible talents all four of the finalists are blessed with. F A N S Night a Huge Success The winner of this year's award is Elizabeth Smily, who said upon receiving her award. "I was told to write something hul 1 thought that would be unlucky, so I didn't, and now I don't know what (o say." Smily did express, however, how honoured she was to be the recipient of the award. Chair of the North Shore Arts Commission. Don Williams, said of the event, "What was most excep tional was the increase in attendance over the years and the size of the trust. And how much everyone enjoyed themselves. A l l of this indicates that this will be a permanent institution.
