artwork are discussed as they pertain to particular difficulties the individual is experiencing and wishes to explore. Art therapy can then lead to the verbalization of emotions and the sharing of experiences that might not have been identified without initial non-verbal expression. Once these feeling have been externalized, one is freer to focus on the issues, talk about them, and work toward a resolution of conflicts in a safe environment created by the art therapist. The students and graduates of the training program w i l l host a show at the Silk Purse Art Gallery in West Vancouver. Selected pieces of art are accompanied by captions that describe the meaning the piece has to the artist. This Deep Cove gallery runs art education and appreciation programs for schools and community centres, based on the gallery's current exhibits.
