G u i l d members are excited by the possibilities available in the many techniques used in fibre arts, which include weaving, hand embroidery, applique, quilting, collage, handmade paper and two- and three-dimensional works. The Silk Purse Arts Centre presents Mastering the Medium, works by Antonia Lanik and Joseph Gabanek, M a r c h 19-31. The two met in art school in Prague and emigrated together after the Soviets invaded Czechoslovakia. Reused Wood Products by Annette Lacroix is showing in the window display of the North Shore Arts Commission ( N S A C ) at 148 East 2nd St., until March 4. From her shop near the Maplewood Flats, Lacroix creates garden products, woodracks, fireplace accessories and even gift boxes. Lacroix bases this venture on her experience as a gardener and her commitment to the environment. She w i l l also have a display at the Delbrook Craft Fair in May.
