David Mackay, playwright/actor/director, launches his latest play. Big Slioes to Fill, at Studio 16, March 2 9 - A p r i l 20 (Tix: 731-5229). Mackay. winner o f Best Playwright at the 1984 North Shore Arts Festival, has numerous theatre credits which include All Fall Down with the Arts C l u b and Fall of the House of Usher with Pink Ink. The person Mackay would like to credit is Z i m . his drama teacher at Windsor Secondary School in North Vancouver. "I would like to thank Z i m for giving me an empty stage every day o f the week and allowing me to perform." Z i m , now retired after teaching drama at Windsor for 21 years, inspired many students over the years to pursue a career in theatre, About Mackay he says, " H e was one of the most talented in comedy--he's a comic genius."
