I T h i r t yY e a r sa n dT i m et oG r o w THE FUTURE. A N E W HOME. T o continue to grow as a leading Civic Art Gallery, Presentation House Gallery needs a new home. The Gallery has long outgrown the current lodgings at Chesterfield Avenue and 3rd Street and can't meet the needs of artists, staff and patrons. The Gallery is setting its sites next to North Vancouver's Lonsdale Quay. Vancouver's Millennium Development Corporation has proposed a project adjacent to the Quay. Their application includes plans to revitalize public space at the foot of Lonsdale with a number of public amenities--one of them being a new home for Presentation House Gallery, ideally sited on the waterfront. Presentation House Gallery Director/Curator Reid Shier is excited about the future. "Such a facility would allow Presentation House Gallery to build and grow as a focal point in the cultural, economic and social life of the North Shore, while allowing for the long-term health of a truly homegrown success story, a gallery that draws visitors from across British Columbia and beyond." www.arts-alive.ca J an u ar y | F e b ru ar y 19
