T h o u g h t s I i s I say goodbye to Arts Alive Magazine, I realize it's a little hit like taking leave of an old friend. I can't help thinking about the good times we've had together. J. X. Fascinating interviews, visits to unique studio spaces, distilling 2000 words down to 500 without losing the magic of the story. We've worked together in the early mornings when the essence of a story arrives with the first rays of the sun and we've toiled late into the night to meet what we thought was an unattainable deadline. Although Arts Alive Magazine, in its present state, will be gone, its message will carry on through the artists. Over the years, the magazine has strengthened the arts community on the North Shore. On this solid foundation, artists and supporters of the arts will build new projects, find other creative ways to communicate and celebrate. And so I say adieu to Arts Alive. I wipe a tear from my eye and look forward to the next step on my artistic journey. As Bob Hope always said, "Thanks for the memories". - Peggy Stortz www.arts-alive.ca 2003 January|February 15
