The 2011-2012 year has been a very busy year for the West Vancouver Historical Society. Our coffee table book, "Cottages to Community" released on September 15, 2011, proved to be a critical and popular success, nearly selling out before the centennial year began. i ! s l Wncm,,, This was followed by an equally successful showcase of 100 years of photos and historical artifacts unique to West Vancouver. Hundreds of West Vancouverites enjoyed this Exhibition which ran from March 20th to April 29th.. Kudos go to Aim Brousson, Dave Barker, Carol Howie, Wendy Topham, Jim Carter, Barb Hunter and Bas Collins. M useum E xh ib itio n A G re a t Success The West Vancouver Historical Society's salute to the community's Centennial, "A Journey Through Time", opened on March 20th to much critical applause. A display of photos from the Archives and Library plus artifacts from the private collection of Bas Collins was very popular. @ Private Collector and Archivist for the Police and Fire Departments, Bas Collins chats with Archivist and photo editor for "Cottages to Community", John Moir. Jim McCarthy, the chair of the 75th Anniversary Celebration, looks at photos with Heinz Berger West Van's father of Parks and Recreational services. West Van owes a lot to both of these gentlemen.
