The NORTH SHORE GARDENS 89 CONTEST held its' Awards Night in September at the Delbrook Centre. The three North Shore Mayors were on hand to present the awards, and slides of the winning and other gardens were shown. Special guest Brian Minter gave an in teresting illustrated talk on winter colour. Response to the contest was phenomenal and the task for the judges overwhelm ing in trying to choose winners among gardens of such high quality. A spring and summer contest for next year is already being organized and it is hoped that many North Shore gardeners will again participate.
