North Shore Photographic Club in its fourth year of existence, captured the coveted Elder Trophy awarded by the National Association of Photographic Art to the club achieving the highest points over three competitions in a year. 42 clubs across Canada participated in the 1989 colour slide competition in which the North Shore Photographic Club ob tained a total of 374 points, some 11 ahead of its nearest rival. The achieve ment is all the more noteworthy as this is the first time the trophy has been won by a club in British Columbia in the 21 years of existence of the competition.
