Deadline is October 26th for all information and payments. - Workshops: Anne-Marie Calder and Genevieve Gillett At break time Genevieve and Anne-Marie will be taking registrations for Franki Watts show and Alan Wylie and David Langevin's workshops in November and January. - Education: June Harman Roger Watt is here tonight to talk about publishing your artwork, fine art prints, etc. June wants to know how many people would be interested in hearing from a framer. It seems more members would like to see demos. Larry pointed out that as we have access to Klee Wyck. we might be able to have a smaller workshop there for a framer to give a talk. - Membership: Susan Goodeve Introduction of new members - -- 5 new members tonight Publicity: Karole Doucette Karole told the members that we have lots of posters for the AFAS that need to be taken and put up in buildings, etc. There are also postcards to be given out or mailed out for this show. - Business Arising out of last Meeting: AFAS Raffle: Florence Allardice Nell Turner-- Florence has the tickets for the raffle. She would like each member to take one or two books of tickets to sell. One ticket is $3, two for $5. Elizabeth Smily $900 value. Craig Yeats $2050 value. Daniel Izzard $975 limited edition print. Three great prizes. Florence thanked Nell for getting these prizes together. Sales will also take place at Park Royal South on October11, 12, Cap Mall on Oct ?? and Lynn Valley Mall on November 1-2. Hours are 11-2 and 2-4. Florence reminded members to leave their name and phone number when they take their raffle tickets. Nell will be faking names for mall selling duties at the break. Library: Betty Ditters Galleries without walls this is what Betty calls our library. In order to address our storage issue and huge inventory, Betty will be culling our stock and excess books will be sold on November 12th. Anyone with books to return can do so at the break. -- -- New Business: Cathy Roddie Xmas party. Our party will include some entertainment, but not a presentation. Pot luck fingerfood only. $12 will include wine, tea, and coffee. To take place at our usual meeting time in December 10th. Tickets will be on sale next month. Cathy encourages people to RSVP ASAP so that tea, coffee, and wine can be pre-purchased. Cathy asked for help selling tickets next month, help with table setting, etc on the night of the party. Square trays take up less room than round ones on the tables. There will be some door prizes more if there are donations. Frieda announced that there is a portrait class being given at the Music Box that is underregistered. She is hoping that three more members might want to sign up so that the class can take place. See Frieda at the break. Jim Gladden announced he is giving a glass transfer workshop at the Senior's Centre three Saturdays. Contact him for more details. Liz du Fresne is organizing a great pastel workshop with Andrew McDermott on Wed and Thurs November 5,6 and she encouraged members to contact her if they are interested. Meeting Adjourned.
