MAY2008 NEWSLEttER -- - PAGE 5 Past President's Report Useful Information on the Guild website - wwui.nsartists.ca One of the innovations of the software we use at the Guild for our website is the ability to tiave lots of relevant and hopefully upto date information for our members. By having our Log in procedure we as members can see material that is not visible to the general public. Here are a couple of examples: Many of you just submitted digital images of your work to Ed)th Wa?r'fr inclusion in he May 3 jurying If you were not happy with your image th* area cple of papers that may be of some vaIu They are in the Information foNemheØ4tnon the website menu, then clIk on the Computers for Artists topiethen view th s Photographing Paintings and Getting to Digital Current and backisuê'ôf du éWlettersandgenrl rneet11n are online. Did you know you can update your own.ddress, phone numbers and e-mail addresses? Ateriogging in, use the My Membership item on the menu and select Personal In16rmation, make the changes and dick on Update. If you have never done this before or enough, I suggest that from time to time you take a look at the websités of our members. You can quickly get to know about them and see their current and past work. I am always impressed and inspired when I do this. I try to do 3 or 4 at a time on a regular basis. Try this!! - Nominations if you would like to stand for an executive position or nominate someone else, please contact me. Our Annual General Meeting is coming up on June 17. -- Member Survey In addition to ongoing discussions with members, the Guild also has held a bi-annual survey of members. This is an important source of input and opinion and has underpinned many changes and improvements in the Guild in the past 6 or so years that we have used a Survey. - Our next survey will be this fall. A draft is being reviewed by the current Board and will be passed on to the new Board for their further review. The survey can be done on the Internet or via paper and is anonymous. If you have any input on things you think we should include please let any executive member know. New Version of Website Software Over the summer the software that runs our Guild and Artists' websites will be change with some significant improvements. Most of the changes are to make this all easier to use, implement additional or improved capability. For visitors, not much will change although we are working on a new "look" for the site. For current users and artist websites the change will be pretty automatic and I will let you know what is new and if you need to look at anything specific. - Once we have the new version in place we will have a number of workshops for people who want to learn how to create and work with an artist website, which is very intuitive, easy and affordable. Stay tuned. Submitted by, Larry Achtem ich uk 604-926-9640 achterni@gnzaiLconi
