Artists get in on the merits of their work according to the jurors selected. -- 5. The number of shows and the number of paintings required can have a considerable effect on whether or not an artist gets into none, one or more than one show. Don't forget that you can always submit a rejected painting to a future jurying for re evaluation and you can enter them in the Annual Fine Art Sale in November (although we very much encourage you to submit your very best work for that show). We have had a considerable increase in membership and in the quality of work being submitted for jurying. This is a good thing because it allows all of us to stretch and improve our work. Jurors' comments included the following: a. "The overall quallty of the work was quite varied as it should be." 6. 7. b. "Many have not reached the point of getting past information and accepting that composition comes before information." C. `7 thought that the quallty of the work was good overall. There 19 a wide range of talent but overall there was a lot to be happy with." "Do you have a critique session for those whose works were not accepted? This can be a bit difficult when the person doing the critique 19 often not the one who dedilned the painting but can still be helpful to the member." d. 8. Finally, in looking over the works and marks it would be my humble assessment that these jurors rewarded those who took some risks in their work and didn't just play it safe.
