Heather received some suggestions for themes from members and has posted them at the back. She invited members to vote for their favourite theme at the break and she will choose the most popular theme to present to Cityscape. Part of the proposal is that we do our own jurying for this show, rather than Cityscape doing so. Cityscape gallery is at 355 Lonsdale Ave. in North Vancouver. v. Regarding jurying, Larry brought up HAF and how they have bent the rules for us regarding jurying. He hopes that Cityscape will do the same. d. Workshops: Frieda Ashworth and Jeri Canderan 5 spaces left in the Lori Sokoluk workshop which is upcoming at the end of April. e. Financial: Victor Smith i. Victor explained to members that our operating costs have risen in the past few years. (For example, room costs have increased by $300 this year). In the last two years we operated at a deficit. Victor proposed that we raise our membership dues by $5 per member in order to increase our revenue by approximately $1000. Victor motioned that we increase our membership fees and Helen Ott seconded. The floor was opened for discussion at this point. Shelley James suggested that this motion should have been brought to the members' attention prior to this meeting in order to afford the members who are not here the opportunity to be here at the meeting to vote on this issue. Wanda suggested that fees for the fine art sale could be raised to offset Visa costs instead of raising membership dues. Victor countered that Visa fees will be offset in other ways. Edith Warner agreed that this type of issue be published in the newsletter in order to keep all members fairly informed before the motion is passed. The motion was carried by majority vote. -- -- -- -- -- R 0. Box 91051 West Vancouve,' B. C. V7V 3N3 Servina Visual Artists from Ftirrv Crk- to fln (`nv cin 1047
