Victor Smith zvvictors@shaw.ca Past President Larry Achtemichuk 604-926-9640 lachtem@shaw.ca - Klee Wyck Painting Groups There is room for 1 or 2 more people in the Wednesday and Thursday painting groups, from 9:30 2:30 each week through the end of June. To join, enroll and prepay the fees, which are $11/week. We do not have drop-ins as this makes attendance unpredictable and adds to the administration. You can however, swap between Wednesday and Thursday if you have a scheduling issue. Contact Cathy Roddie about the Wednesday session or Larry Achtemichuk about the Thursday session. Nominating Committee As specified in our bylaws, the Nominating Committee to name the Executive for the next fiscal year, which begins in June, is composed of me as Past President, Membership Director Wanda Doyle and a member-at-large, who will be Jane Armstrong. We will also be filling key committee leader positions. - Over the next few weeks we will assemble a slate of nominees. A Board Director term is either 1 or a maximum 2 year term. Many Board positions are now well supported by committees, assistants or co-Directors so it is easier and very feasible for newer members to participate on the Board. As a matter of perspective, while we have had a lot of change in the past few years, the expected Board agenda for the next period will be less complicated, so again this would be an easier time to join the Board. Anyone interested in discussing a Board position should call or e-mail me directly. Also, if you would like to nominate someone for a board position, our bylaws require that you make the nomination no later than 4 days prior to the Annual General Meeting on June 17, 2008. Of course, the earlier we get nominations the better. There is no better way to meet dozens of great people in the Guild than by being a member of the Board or leading one of our key committees. You can also make a valued contribution to the future of the organization. Call me.
