Adoption of minutes of last meeting, November 20, 2007. Jim Elton motioned. Betty Ditters seconded. Executive reports: a) Corresponding Secretary: Nell Turner (absent). 3 b) Exhibitions: Manfred Krefteck for Heather Luccock. Manfred had no report. According to Shelley James, the Chamber of Commerce has moved its location and there is no longer an opportunity to exhibit paintings there. Question to membership: Did Heather arrange for one of the members to look after the Park Royal Community room? Betty Johansson and Shelley James are looking after this room. Although Park Royal has changed pians on us often, at this point the 24th of January is the expected date to set up this ongoing show at Park Royal South (six months duration). The membership didn't seem to think this venue was a very good one and Shelley says there are only 8 hooks in the room at present. This run will be a trial. (The plan to use this room as one of our "ongoing" venues is stifi being discussed!) · Shows planned for Ferry Building: October 7 19, 2008 and Harmony Arts Festival in August of 2008. · Jurying for above two shows is planned for Saturday, May 3, 2008 in St. Stephen's church basement and via email. We wifi be jurying for approximately 200 paintings. - c) Workshops: Jeri Canderan and Frieda Ashworth Frieda announced there are two spaces left for the Tony O'Regan workshop (Feb 22 and 29) which is a portrait workshop. Mike Svob workshop is this weekend. Lori Sokolok (watercolours) in April and Suzanne Northcott large and loose in May. - d) Financial: Victor Smith Very solid position no financial problems. For all those who sold paintings at the FAS, all cheques and Visas have cleared. 8 artists have not deposited their cheques however. Denise has receipts for those who sold paintings. - e) Education: June Harman Watercolour demo tonight Lori Sokolok. -- f) Publicity: Karole Doucette for Florence Allardice -- Carol is absent, as is Florence. g) Vice President: Jacquie Manning: Still working on date for AFAS 2008 at Parkgate Community Centre. We wifi be purchasing 20 new chairs for our meetings. - h) Membership: Wanda Doyle · Introduction of new members and guests: Cathy Roddie. Cathy introduced our guests (8) and new members (5). · Wild at Art Festival in Squamish successful last year and there will be another one this year. She has been asked to invite some NSAG artists to show at this years' show which runs for 10 days. Contact Wanda if interested. Wanda reminded members to sign in and pick up rosters. · i) Past President: Larry Achtemichuk · Larry presented his "snapshot of the guild" which he prepared and he summarized it for the members (old and new).
