North Shore Artists' Guild (formerly West Vancouver Sketch Club) January 2008 Page 2 All that being said, I'm so looking forward to a wonderful, fruitful year of painting, sharing our artwork, getting to know each other better and helping newer members to happily find their way around in this large organization of artists. You're a great bunch!! Exhibitions There is no report this month as Heather is away. Heather Luccock 604- -985-6570 hjluccock@shaw.ca Jurying Edith Warner 604-980-5358 warneren@telus.net As mentioned at our last meeting, our next jurying wifi take place in May. More details and information will be provided in the next newsletter but for new members here are some things you should know: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. -- 7. You may submit up to 4 paintings. You must have attended 3 meetings in the 12 months prior to the jurying to qualify for entry. All entries are juried via electronic images. Submissions can be accepted electronically this is the preferred method for submission. If you cannot submit electronically, you can bring your paintings to be photographed on the day of the jurying. There is a $2.00 fee per painting for photography done by the Guild. There will be a hanging fee charge of $4.00 per painting payable when you deliver your paintings for any show for which they are selected. Paintings that are "not for sale" can be submitted for jurying but will not be selected for any shows. Our policy is that all paintings in a show are to be for sale. This jurying will cover two important shows including the Harmony Arts Festival, one of our most successful sales opportunities for the year, so be sure and get those brushes moving you've got lots of time. - In next month's issue I will detail how paintings are juried and what you can expect by way of marks and feedback. In the meantime, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. Education There is no report this month.
