The next show for the guild will be the Harmony Arts Festival from Aug 3 to will be Heather Luccock. (See her note below) When a painting is sold at Harmony Arts the buyer pays at the Harmony Arts office just west of our tent, then brings back a receipt and takes the painting home, then the person on duty will phone the next person on the spares list to bring their painting in to replace the one sold. Those able to help with the panels please meet at Klee Wyck 200 Keith Rd. West Van (going up Taylor Way from Marine Dr. turn right on Keith Rd. and go east to the end of the road turn right into driveway on the right and go to basement of old house in middle of the property), at 8:30 on Fri Aug 3ic This will be the last show I am involved with as Exhibition Director as my term is up. I would like to thank all the willing volunteers who helped with all the shows, a lot of hours are put in by the volunteers to make these shows happen. The list of those involved is at the end of this newsletter. Please bring your painting to the tent (near Silk Purse, 15th & Argyle Aye, West Vancouver) on Friday August 3rd at 9:00 am. There will be a hanging fee of $4.00 per painting. We would ask you to please put the security tether on the back of your painting (This is the artist's responsibility). If you do not have a tether there will be some available for $1.00 each. Make sure your paintings is properly wired for hanging. If you have not signed up to sit at the show, please call Jean Vanderley at 604- 986-7212. Even if you do not have a painting in the show, your help would be appreciated and, for new members, it is a way to get to know people. The sifting roster and other show information are on the web site, and there are some spaces left. Paintings are to be picked up at 6:00 pm, on Sunday, August 12th at 6:00 pm. Annual General Meeting discussion of possible changes to different aspects of the guild. - - - - - - - - - Thanks to a discussion with member Florence Allardice, the Capilano College Art History Department is offering that our members enroll in some of their Art History Classes, starting in July and August and offered in the fall term as well. You can take these classes for credit (which are transferable to UBC, SFU or U Vic) or you can "audit" the classes, so you attend and participate but do not gain academic credits. The classes offered for the Fall of 2007 include: o The History of Art I o Introduction to Visual Culture I o Pre-Columbian, African and NW Coast Indigenous Art o History of Modem Art (19th Century) o Early Renaissance Art in Italy
