North Shore Artists' Guild (formerly West Vancouver Sketch Club) December 2007 Page 2 All sales, as a direct result of our organizing this show, are commissionable to the Guild. Our newer members may not be familiar with this policy. if one of us sells a painting 30 days before or after a show, as a direct result of the show, we are obligated to pay 15% commission to the club. This can be done in one of 2 ways. Ask the purchaser for a cheque payable to the NSAG for the full amount of the painting plus 7% PST and submit it to Victor, our Treasurer. He will then hold back the 15% commission, send you a cheque and record the sale. Or, if you have already accepted the payment, just submit 15% of it to the Guild along with 7% PST IF you collected it. If no PST was collected, don't worry about it this time. Victor keeps a detail of every sale, so all information needs to get to him. The best way to handle a sale after the show is to complete a NSAG receipt when you get payment, and bring the yellow and pink copies to the next meeting. Turn these in at the membership table and Victor (Yellow) and Carole (Pink) can be sure the monies are recorded and the database is updated. We have receipt blanks at the Membership desk. It never hurts to have one on hand. Artists can pick up their cheques from the sale at the Christmas Party. Kiff Holland, our guest for the evening, wifi be pleased to hear about our recent success.
