Everything went extremely smoothly in all processes and the quantity and quality of the work submitted was OUTSTANDING. Thank you to all for your participation. We were left wondering about the validity of jurying in the future given the excellent art that was displayed at this show. Many thanks go to the many volunteers who assisted in these processes. The statistics from the show are listed below. We were surprised at how quickly these processes went, from the intake of paintings, to hanging them on the various stands/supports, to the speed of takedown at the end. It was a breeze! We will be even more efficient next time. Heather Luccock would like to thank to everyone who participated in setting up and taking down the Show. Special thanks to Roger Ayliffe and Jim Elton for renting the truck and getting all the volunteers organized. Everything went very smoothly and we were able to set up and take down in record time. Many people signed up to "man the floor" in various shifts. The venue itself was wonderful spacious and bright to show off the paintings. Everyone was very cooperative in working together to make my job of setting up the venue easier. - Sales Process Sales were brisk the first couple of hours, with lineups at the cashier starting before the official opening time. That was very exciting to see. Our four cashiers had trouble keeping up the first hour, but it was a great problem to have. Next year, we wifi double the number of cashiers to eight and fine-tune our systems further. We will also look into having an on-line credit card system, instead of inputting each sale thru the cell phone key pad. The public was asking to meet artists, however, we did not know what you all looked like and could not point you out. Please mingle at the meetings and get to know your fellow artists. Please wear your name tag and return it to the box at the end of each meeting. (Perhaps a member will volunteer to co-ordinate building an album with all our members' photos.) Artists can pick up their sold art receipts at the Membership table at the next meeting. I would recommend artists send thank you notes and biographical information to their purchasers or at least follow-up with a phone call. Ask them how they heard about the sale, what inspired them to buy that particular painting, etc. It's very exciting to hear first hand and they are also more likely to buy more of your paintings in future! The information from these receipts has been input to our contact database by Carole Wilson so that we may invite these purchasers to future shows. Thank you Carole for the work you do so quietly in the background after each show. Our contact list is growing very nicely because of you.
