North Shore Artists' Guild (formerly West Vancouver Sketch Club) December 2007 Page 8 discussed at a general meeting in the new year. Please give the subject some thought. The Board would value your input. I would like to offer a special thank you to the Social and Library Committees. Each month, we rely on these volunteers who organize a pleasant social break and allow us to have a great resource library from which to borrow and browse! Also thank you to the wonderful bakers in the Guild! Please pick up your roster if you have not already done so. Publicity Florence Allardice 604-925-3039 frogsnest@telus.net Andrea Argyros has an exhibit at Subeez Café at the corner of Homer and Smithe in Yaletown (phone 604 987-6107). Come see the show November 27 to the end of December. Or better yet, book lunch or dinner with friends and make an outing of it. Treasurer Victor Smith wvictors@shaw.cu Our income during this past month was derived primarily from the workshops, Klee Wyck painting groups, and the Annual Fine Art Sale. Details on these events are included in separate reports elsewhere in this newsletter. As you read the various reports, it wifi become apparent that our First Annual Fine-Art Sale was an extraordinary success. Income [Oct/Nov]: Workshops KleeWyck Memberships Annual Fine Art Sale Registrations $3,815 Commissions 5,835 Raffle tickets 1,585 Total 11,235 22,230 $3,185 7,360 450 Expenses for the Annual Fine Art Sale were extensive and bifis are still coming in. But it is now safe to say that income was sufficient to cover all expenses and there should be a net contribution to the club for use in other activities. Our cash position continues to be comfortably adequate sufficient to meet all anticipated expenses during the coming month. Past President Klee Wyck Update Larry Achtemichuk 604-926-9640 lachtem@shaw.ca I am thoroughly enjoying being part of one of the two new painting groups at Klee Wyck on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 to 2:30. We can also handle people moving from one of these days to the other to get around scheduling issues. It looks like we still have room for a few more people as not everyone is able to attend every week. If you are interested in joining for the balance of the season until the end of June, please contact me. What are these groups like? This is a great chance to socialize with a group of fellow members. There is lots of informal and supportive feedback and suggestions. Most people report that their painting time has increased and the energy from other artists is a very important factor. It is great.
