North Shore Artists' Guild (formerly West Vancouver Sketch Club) November 2007 Page 4 Our advertising will appear on the Deep Cove Lady Lions sign at the corner of Mt. Seymour Parkway and Gallant. The North Shore News will be doing a story about our Guild to appear on Nov. 9. I am starting an album of Guild articles that appear in publications and would appreciate it if you see one of the above that you clip it for me. Please do all you can to help us get the news out there to make this Annual Fine Art Sale a BIG SUCCESS. Treasurer Victor Smith wvictors@shaw.ca Our financial position continues to remain strong. As of this date, our bank balance is $5408. Revenue from member dues is up due to our increased membership. Workshops, the new Klee Wyck painting groups and commissions from painting sales are all on target. Outlook for the coming month is that revenues wifi be sufficient to meet all anticipated expenditures. Call her if you are interested. Annual Fine Arts Sale Direct Mailings The Guild has just sent out about 1000 invitations in the form of e-mails and postcards to the Annual Fine Arts Sale. The names used are the contacts collected from the Peoples' Choice Award ballots at NSAG shows over the past couple of years. This data base of contacts is proving to be very valuable. As well, we have been asking all members (whether they wifi be exhibiting in the show or not) to invite as many people to the show as they can. Thanks to all the members who picked up or ordered postcards and posters at the last general meeting. They have all been mailed to you. Based on feedback I have received to the invitations I have sent out so far, the Annual Sale seems to get a good response from people. For those who did not get a chance to order these pre-printed postcards and banners, just let us know how many you would like and we will mail them to you. Contact Carole Wilson at 604-9839870 or carole@carolewilsonstudio.com. Don't forget, these materials are all free. All you need to do is mail the postcards or put up the posters. Thanks for your help. Classified Ads Bob McMurray AFCA is teaching a course at the Federation of Canadian Artists called "Basic Oils Plus: Fundamentals and Beyond", Nov. 1 to Nov. 29, 9:30 to 4:30.
