There was a great range of subject matter and/or style or treatment of the subject matter. Need more time developing the idea or composition. Less labour on the paint application. Keep the framing simple. Stuart Slind Subject matter tended to be too conservative ie: old barns, sunsets etc. Often there were good compositions that were lost in poor framing and or poor technique. A few more classes or instruction should be taken by those with lower marks before they enter competitions so they don't get discouraged.
