This means that we wifi select paintings from our previous juries and will need to let those artists know of the selection and the details of the Exhibition. This will necessitate another issue of the newsletter in early July. Our 2006 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at our next meeting on June 20. Each of the executive will present reports on the accomplishments and highlights of the past year, and also outline the issues or priorities for the next year. And of course we will be voting on nominations for the Executive for the next year, so this is another highlight. We also expect to have our candidate for this year's Jesse Faunt Award, which recognizes exemplary membership and contributions to the Guild over a sustained period. I won't share too much right now, but we will also use this AGM to kick-off what we plan as a year long celebration of the organization's 60th anniversary. We also want your ideas and suggestions for how to best do this. Frieda Ashworth has graciously stepped forward to help plan and lead the activities in support of our Anniversary: thank you Frieda! The highlights of the past month were another show at the Park Royal Mall, our May jury session, and our preparations for the upcoming Ferry Building Gallery Show, which is held just once every two years. The executive members wifi review all of these in more detail in their sections of the newsletter. For those of you who were not at the last meeting, the Guild had to say goodbye to two wonderful people, artists and friends. Marjorie Andrew passed away on May 8 at the age of 95. Ruth Ditto passed away on May 13 at the age of 88. Both were long time members, very active as volunteers and participants over the years, and both helped to build the organization that will celebrate their, and others', contributions during our anniversary year. cE4ii6itions )ffSpence 604-988-2737 allinspence@telus.net The Park Royal Show went well, there were approximately 85 people at the reception and one but painting was sold during the reception, not as many at the party as were at he Cap Mall Show there was good attendance during the week, with a result of 10 paintings sold, so sending out and invitations seems to be paying off. The Peoples Choice draw winner came down on Sunday time purchased a painting and got $100 taken off the price. Two artists did particularly well this each selling 2 paintings; perhaps they could give us some tips. When Helen Ott was on duty she Ott's sold one of Barbra OhI's paintings, and when Barbra Ohl was on duty she sold one of Helen Also title. paintings. Some more trivia there were 3 paintings sold with the word "autumn" in the coming the first two paintings sold were the result of the buyer seeing the work on the web site and down right away to snap them up.
