North Shore Artists' Guild.. (`formerly West Vancouver Sketch Club) May 2007.Pago 2 1. Plein air painting sessions on Saturday and Sunday for four consecutive weekends in July. All members are invited to participate in any and all the sessions. This is open to any media and to any level of experience in working outdoors. Several plein air painters from outside the Guild will also be invited to add to the event. 2. Enjoy your lunch with your fellow painters, perhaps with some music to add to the scene. This is not decided upon and input and ideas are most welcome. 3. This is not confirmed at this time, but an art exhibition to be held at the same time as the plein air sessions is contemplated. Alfonso is working on the permissions we may need and a location for this event. These activities should be supported by publicity in the media and on posters. If you have an interest in participating in these sessions please contact Alfonso at atejeda@shaw.ca or at 604-9884801. &jii6itions TO DEEP CREEK PEACHLAND THE MEETING LYNN CANYON DRIFTWOOD AT LONG BEACH BACHELOR BAY CONVERSATION AT THE PEIR A ROAD IN FRANCE SUNSET ON LIGHTHOUSE PARK J4(Spence 604-988-2737 spenceal@telus.net The Park Royal show went well, a lot of nice work there, eight paintings were sold, they were: BY BY BY BY BY BY BY BY ROSEMARY BONNER JOAN FRASER CHARLOTTE GRUNDIG MARY JOHNSON CAROLINE KUWICA LOUISE NICHOLSON LYNN WEBSTER LYNN WEBSTER I I % The next show will be the Capilano Mall show running from May 28 to June 3. We will set up the show as usual on Sunday March 27 at 6 pm, so please bring your paintings that are juried in for the show at the May 5 jurying at that time. The Guild would like to have as many people as possible at the opening reception which will be on Monday May 28 from 7-9 pm, so get those invitations out to potential buyers and friends and relatives. As this show is also a celebration of 60 years of club history and we will be honoring the most senior members of the club at that time. We will need 4-5 volunteers to take shifts at welcoming our guests (and screening others) at the mall entrance for the Reception on May 28. Each volunteer would do a 30 minute shift. Please contact me if you can help. We will be taking our panels to Capilano Mall on Fri May 4 because the North Van Community Arts Council is renting them for their show in the Mall prior to ours, and then they will be stored there at Cap Mall until we set up our show on Sunday May 27. So, any men who can help on Friday May 3 at 9 am, please come to Klee Wyck 200 Keith Rd. West Van (turn east off of Taylor Way to the end of Keith Rd.) Your help will also be required on May 27 at 5:30 to bring the panels out of storage and set them up for our show Once again Park Royal has asked us to paint and sell our work outside in the New Village. This would be each weekend in July. They will set up a tent as protection from the elements, last year they provided us with cold drinks as well. I need to get names committed to this so they know whether to give this event to our group or someone else. You can draw or paint anything you wish, and bring up to 6 paintings for sale. We can sign up at the next meeting or phone or email me to sign up 604-988-2737 spenceal@telus.net. I do not need to know exactly which days you want be there just that you can come.
