It can be done on-line via the Internet; just access the following link on your browser: http:/ /www.preceptdesign.net/surveys/nsag/ For those that get this newsletter by post, a paper copy of the survey is included with your newsletter. Please complete it and mail it to NSAG at P0 BOx 91051, West Vancouver, BC V7V 3N3 Even if you do get the Newsletter by post, if you do have access to the Internet, we would urge you to do the survey this way. The important reason is that this would avoid the need for volunteers having to enter the survey by hand after the fact, which is needed to combine all the information into one file and allow the analysis to be done using the tools we have. However, we would definitely rather get a paper survey return from you than none at all. Regardless of how you complete the survey, please have it done or mailed in time to arrive by April 14 at the latest. With some analysis time over that weekend we should have some analysis for all of us at the April general meeting on the 17t11. About 1/3 of our current members are new in the past 2-3 years, and we have tried out some new approaches lately, so it is timely for us to get a good set of ideas, advice and assessments from the membership. This survey input will be very valuable to the Executive, as have the last 2 surveys in 2003 and 2005. There is good room for write in comments so you are not restricted to checking off boxes. All input is anonymous. Recent Graduates Program The Committee that planned our 60th Anniversary activities suggested to the Executive that we "reach out" to the communities we serve as part of our plans. One issue that was identified was that when students interested in art (this also applies to music and drama) graduate from school, they often lose the connections with art and artist community that the school offered them to some extent. Unfortunately, many drift away from their interest or past specialization in art. We have decided to try out the notion of a free one year membership in the Guild to recent North Shore based graduates of high school, community colleges and universities. We don't believe that this will attract a lot of students, but if satisfies a need with a few, then we can feel we have made a good contribution to the communities we serve, and also potentially tap into the energy and ideas of the next generation of artists in our midst. Framing for Shows At our last general meeting, it was pointed out that there were a number of paintings brought in for hanging with frames that were really unacceptable. There was an inherent check and balance on
