2. The changed approach to exhibitions by introducing a reception to two of our shows was a success. For both the Capilano Mall exhibition in February and Park Royal North Mall exhibition in May this resulted in greater sales. As a result we made a profit on both of these shows. 3. The number of workshops was increased and "celebrity artists" were retained for some workshops. This resulted in a shortfall of revenues over expenses for the workshops. As a result we increased the workshop fees from $50 to $65 to produce a more balanced situation where the workshops should break even. However we still didn't cover all of our costs. We will be revising the way we calculate the workshop fees so that we will cover our costs in future. The annual financial report has been completed and compared with the planned budget Overall the correlation is satisfactory and will provide useful information for projecting next year's budget. cPu6lkity gorion Davis 604-926-5619 bandgdtwis@shaw.ca The following Guild members are having shows at the Silk Purse Opening Reception Aug 29-Sept10 -Gloria O'Neil Opening Reception Sachio Grossman Oct 10 -22 - Aug 29, 6:00-8:00 PM Oct 10, 6:00-8:00 PM Nancy Dean will be showing at the Ferry Building Gallery Aug 23-Sept10 Opening Reception Aug29, 6:00-8:00 PM Many of our members will be showing during the Harmony Arts Festival Aug 4 -Aug 14including-- -The following have open studios Aug 5/6 and Aug 12/13, 2006 June Harman Tess Johnston Gordon Davis Many of our members will be showing in the Art Beat (merchants windows) during the Harmony Arts Festival including Nancy Dean at Carmelo's and Gordon Davis in the Post Office Barry Chadwick and Gordon Davis are giving Demos at the Ferry building Tent - Jfarmony arts report andproceiures We are once again participating in Harmony Arts this year and we are expecting an expanded exhibition with room for 80 paintings.
