What is exciting about this show is that it will be the first one at this venue with a rceptioi. We learned at the last Capilano Mall, that with a good effort from all members that we can get the turnout at our shows up, that the reception was great fun, and that the success of the show improved immensely as a result and we sold many more paintings than we had historically. Let's do it again. -- p$ £arcfiemirfiu6o4-926-964o A really good question from our last meeting had to do with how the Guild might use the names of people that are invited to the reception and show. We do nothing with any information form your own invitation lists those are yours to do with what you like. We did enter the information from the Peoples' Choice ballots into the Guild system, but not for those that checked the box on the ballot asking us not to do so. For those that did give us their permission, we also used the capabilities of the website to share these contacts with the artist of the work the ballot voted for, which should be a valuable assistance to that artist This seems like a very sensible and sensitive approach. We do not, and should not, have any interest in having contacts that are not interested in us. - I will remind you that I now have a few entries in the pen and ink sketches for cards for the West Vancouver Yacht Club. These are due to me at the May monthly meeting and based on the response we will decide how to proceed with this idea. It could give our members some good exposure. We are about to submit our application for the Harmony Arts Festival again this year. For those new to the Club, we have had about 40 paintings displayed in a tent on the waterfront in Ambleside in conjunction with the Festival which bridges across the August 1 civic holiday. We have sold an amazing 35-40% of the paintings there. The decision on our participation is always late in the cycle and is not a sure thing. We will keep you informed as we proceed. In the past month we have had 10 new members opting to establish their own artist websites in conjunction with the Club's site. We now have 60 members with websites, although some are works in progress and are not yet "live". Contact me if you are interested. cE4ii6itionc A busy weekend in May coming up.
