The theme is Scandinavian Spring with Kari Turunen as guest conductor. Mr. Turunen is a renowned Finnish conductor and wifi be leading the choir through musical selections from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. In addition there will be a new piece of music written by Laudate's composer in residence, Kristopher Fulton. Tickets to this concert are available to North Shore Artists' Guild members for $10.00 each. Hammersly House was built by developer and businessman Alfred St. George Hammersley in 1904 and is now a Bed and Breakfast. `v'/.. t CONGRATULATIONS TO BOB RENNIE! Last Sunday at the AGM of the Federation of Canadian Artists, our Bob Rennie, AFCA was awarded a lifetime membership in the Federation of Canadian Artists. This service award was granted for his work in organizing and rtmning the Salt Spring Island FCA workshop throughout the 1980's and in the latter 1990's. The workshop operated for two weeks in June with 80 students each week and 5 highly qualified instructors. Each student was registered in a class of 20 people, and each class rotated through 5 different en pleine air locations taught by the different instructors. This workshop not only helped students, but also established a springboard for the instructors to make contacts in the American Watercolor Society and hence the awards to deserving instructor/ artists. In the 1980's there were not many workshops and at that time the FCA Saltspring Workshops were among the finest in North America. The money brought in by the workshops also
