PRIZES AND MEMORIALS 1989 The West Vancouver Sketch Club provides the yearly amount of $300 to the University of British Columbia as "The Sam Black Prize". This is to be awarded at the discretion of the University and the recipient shall be asked to exhibit artwork at one of the club's juried shows in the current year. The West Vancouver Sketch Club accepted a gift of $20,000 from Cohn Cole. 1991 Under the ten-year gift rule, the capital of the gift may not be used for ten years, but the interest earned may be spent. The Club may spend the interest towards educational events, annually if possible. CHANGE TO: The Kay Cole Memorial Gift. The West Vancouver Sketch Club accepted a gift of $20,000 from Cohn 1991 Cole. Under the ten-year gift rule, the capital of the gift was not used for ten years, but the interest earned was spent. The Board of Directors may now utilize this fund to further club activities, or in any other way which would benefit the membership, subject to membership approval.
