Sketch May 2005 Page 6 Jane Armstrong has had a painting accepted for the ART FUSION Exhibition in Calgary May 6-13 then in Vancouver at the Federation of Canadian Artists on Granville Island May 24th to June 5th Tess Johnson has a picture in the current FCA Black and White Show running until April 2th. Rita Peirone has a stunning portrait of Margaret Key in the same show. Ishrat Khan has had one of his paintings accepted for the NVCAC upcoming show entitled: Landscapes: Through the Eye of the Beholder. The show will be held at the City Scape Community Art Space from 8th April- 7 May, 2005. Roger Ayliffe and four other watercolourists are showing in the Ferry Building from June 14 to July 3, 2005 Florence Allardice is exhibiting in "Start with Art" put on by the Seymour Art Gallery. The exhibit is designed for children and has class tours. Only someone under 16 may purchase a painting!! Give your kids lots of pocket money!! "Art in the Park" is on May 28th, Saturday & May 29th, Sunday from 12 pm 5pm and is sponsored Arts & by the North Vancouver Community Arts Council. Directors Reports 3.1 President Lorne Topham 3.1.1 Lorne announced that one of our members, Ken Gibson, has recently passed away. His family has donated his mat cutter to the club so that it can be put to good use. Lorne will send his family a card. 3.1.2 Lome reminded members that membership fees are due by the end of June. Members can pay starting at the May meeting. 3.1.3 The roster cover competition is coming up as well. B&W artwork on half of an 8.5 x 11 sheet will be chosen by members for next years roster cover. 3.1.4 Lome has posted a card from Marg Merler on the board for members to read. 3.1.5 Lorne gave out honorable mention awards from the last jurying to Mary Johnson and Ingrid Taylor (absent). 3.1.6 Lorne told members that he went to Cap College and has given the $400 prize to Genevieve Roberts who was very grateful. 3.1.7 Lome has sent a thank you note to Parviz for allowing us to display at his coffee shop. 3.1.8 Lome told members that extra jury forms would be available at the back of the room during the break if needed. 3.1.9 Lorne has sent a letter to the West Van Library regarding our upcoming show in 2007. He will try to set up a meeting to solidify the ongoing nature of our arrangement with them. 3.1.10 Lorne related to the members the invitation of artist Raymond Chow to visit his studio in Richmond. He also mentioned Raymonds desire to have the club=s backing on the issue of royalties for paintings that are resold, but Lorne has told him that our club is not the best forum for this issue. 3.1.11 Lome thanked the sign making team that consisted of Deb Taylor, Anne McMahon, Jennifer Tunner and himself for a job very well done. - 3.2 Vice President Larry Achtemichuk absent 3.2.1 Lome read a letter that Larry left for him which outlined the upcoming survey which wifi be conducted soon via two methods; either on the Internet, or via hard copy.
