Lucy started drawing and painting at the age of 5 in South Africa. She loved to draw and paint the horses on her family's farm. Lucy is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her in B.C., and she skis and hikes to find subjects to paint. She loves to paint out doors. Lucy is a very accomplished artist. She is a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (AFCA), and has been a member of the Sketch Club since 1989. She has studied with leading artists at the Federation over the past 14 years, and has taken numerous workshops which she has thoroughly enjoyed. Lucy has worked with acrylics and watercolour, but prefers the immediacy in oils and uses them to create luscious paintings with impressionistic uses of light, colour and brushstroke. Lucys work appears on greeting cards produced by Blue Ridge Studios in North Vancouver, and she has exhibited in Evans Gallery in Kelowna, Old Customs House Gallery in Britannia Beach, Seymour Gallery in Deep Cove, and she is currently exhibiting at the West Vancouver Memorial Library until the end of March. Lucy has also taught at the Port Kells Artists' group. Be sure to attend, to support Lucy, and watch her work!!!
