With a few refinements and a few more people bringing along their paintings, hopefully it can become established as a regular event. We welcome your feedback and suggestions. As I mentioned at the last meeting, no one has come forward to claim the draw prize for the membership survey so I have drawn another number. That number is 1114. If you have it, please call me. If I don't hear from someone by the next meeting we'll have to find another creative way to give away the prize. For those who were not able to come to the last meeting there was discussion about expending funds for the purchase of a laptop computer to belong to the club. It was moved, seconded and carried, that we spend up to $2,500 to either purchase a new laptop or obtain one by donation which could then be upgraded. Also brought up was the subject of changing the name of the club to more accurately reflect who we are and what we do. After some discussion it was decided to hold a vote at the next general meeting. Further investigation of our by-laws indicates that such a change would require a special resolution passed by 75% of the voting members present. This will serve as notice of this special resolution to be voted upon at our March meeting. It would also require a name search and filing of such a resolution with the Provincial Government at a cost of $80.00. If you feel strongly about this question, one way or the other, be sure to come out, share in the discussion and have your vote counted. Julie Mullins is still looking for someone to look after hanging paintings at St. Stephen's Church. She also mentioned a potential new location which would require another volunteer. Please call Julie if you can help. Finally, our May jurying is quickly approaching as per Lynn's note below.
