Education Critique Night #2 - `Tess Jofinston 604-922-8238 tessj@shaw.ca June Meeting By popular request we will be having another Critique Night at our June meeting! The format wifi be similar to last time, except we have made some improvements to the process and setups, based on our experience. The idea is to bring a painting about which you would like some feedback or sugestions. We will divide into small groups, each with a leader to facilitate discussion. The last session got excellent reviews, as some very good suggestions were received, and it is great way to get to know a few more members in the club and see all the interesting work going on. So bring those pictures, one per person, that caused you to wonder why they were not accepted by the jury, that you are struggling with, or to share a success or a "recovery" which could help others. This will be a learning experience for all, with an emphasis on positive and constructive feed back by everybody in the group. When you arrive with your painting, please pick up a number when you sign in and we will divide into groups after the coffee break. For those who do not bring a painting, you can just join a group. To streamline the process could we ask that during the coffee break, you take all of your personal belongings off your chairs, so that the chairs can be quickly and easily re-arranged. Since this is the last event of the year, I truly hope that you have enjoyed the demonstrations this year. We have tried to do some new things like the critique nights, and demos on framing, canvas stretching and photography. Do let us know if there are other areas that you would like to explore or artists you think we should arrange for next season.
