I hope this finds you already well into your painting activities for this year. Our January meeting was, by all accounts, quite enjoyable with informative presentations by Lucy Collings on stretching canvas and Randy Green of Frame Right on lots of tips and tricks of the trade in framing. I think we all learned something. Next month will be another innovative meeting as it will be our Critique Night. if successful, we hope to do this at least once a year, maybe more! Now don't be shy, bring along a painting (1 only please) and be prepared to provide some constructive feedback to your fellow artists about their work as well. Ideally your paintings should be at least matted, if not framed. This should be fun. The winning member survey number is 1035. Dig around and find that little piece of paper that you hopefully tore off your survey form and if you're the wirmer, please call me. If we don't hear from someone by the next meeting, we'll draw again! Many thanks to Barb Clennan and Inge Bachrich for volunteering as our welcoming committee for new members and visitors. We could probably use a couple of more people on this committee. We need a replacement for Yvonne Wardas who is retiring to the Island. Yvonne looked after our paintings that were hung at St. Stephen's Church. This involves arranging to change the paintings twice a year or so. Please call Julie Mullins at 604-926-1758 if you're interested. The Club can really use a laptop computer for the increasing number of uses we see for one. If anyone has a reasonably current laptop computer, or one that could be easily upgraded, that they would consider donating to the Club this would be of great value and benefit in so many ways.
