Since 1946 WEST V A N C O U V E R LITTLE THEATRE has been a thriving community group. Our 1988 Christmas Show "Tales from Pooh Comer" pTOOved to be our most successfiil ever and "More Tales from Pooh Comer" can be expected in 1989. We also had a successful run of "You Can't Take it with You" this spring. As well, one of our plays was chosen to be workshopped at the Annual Provincial Theare Festival in Kelowna. NORTH VANCOUVER COMMUNITY PLAYERS will be taking their production of "THE DRESSER" to the Theatte B.C. Festival finals to be held in Kelowna May 29 through June 3. T H E DRESSER won 7 awards at the North Shore Zone Theatre Festival held at Presentation House in April. It won the Best Overall Production Award along with Best Production Design, Best Director PAUL KLOEGMAN, Best Actor DAVID McINTOSH, Best Costumes, Best Ensemble Acting and Best Backstage Organization. The North Vancouver Community Arts Council presented the Players with a cheque for $150 to assist in going to MAINSTAGE 89 in Kelowna. The Players other Production "The Zoo Story" will also go to Kelowna in workshop as one of 3 in die province to be chosen forttiishonour. Actor BARRY DUFFUS won a Best Actor award in "The Zoo Story" in an unusual move by the judges who found it impossible to choose between the two winning actors. C . officesfromartists needing smdio space, it is obvious that there is a shortage of such space on the North Shore. We hope that this will be rectified in the near future but in the meantime, the N.V.
