VOLUNTEERS THANK YOU National Volunteer Week is April 9 to 15, so this is an opportune time to thank the many volunteers who make the Arts Councils tick. The Board Members are volunteers. They spend time on committees and organize fund raisers. Many volunteers help occasionally with special programs like Images and Objects Jurying, Folkfest Craft Fair and the Coho Art Show. Because die North Vancouver Arts Council has several ongoing programs, diere are many volunteers on a steady weekly and/or monthly basis who put in many, many hours. Barbara Blow, Lotte Slinn, Dorothy McPhail, Joy McClelland and Nancy Steaver keep the paper flowing into and out of our small office. They help with typing, membership, newsletter mailings and various other chores, cheerful all the while. Grace Aitchison co-ordinates die Art exhibitions which change monthly, keeping in touch widi artists and her corps of volunteers who hang the shows. Gordon Umbach and Dorodiy Scott have been with Picture Loan for years and diey continue to help familiarize all new volunteers as they carry on this unique service. In West Vancouver, Muriel Hohnes in the office, and Mary Epps, Treasurer of the WVCAC have put in many volunteer hours over the years. We are sorry that space limits our naming all of the volunteers who help; they all deserve a mention. Please accept a HUGE THANK YOU on behalf of die Arts Councils.
