Below is her first report to the membership. Plans are in the works to reprint a limited number of Cottages to Community, our popular salute to the Centennial. We continue to have requests from people wishing to purchase the book. Therefore, it was felt by the Board that we should have a look at what is involved in a reprint and to gauge demand. We will keep you posted. We had planned to hold a BBQ on August 15th on the lawn of Gertrude Lawson House. The BBQ committee reluctantly decided to cancel the event because of an 80% chance of rain that day. This was very disappointing to our members and guests who enjoy getting together to relax and catch up with old friends. We will revisit our mandate at our September Board meeting. It is, of course, primarily to promote awareness of the history of West Vancouver With this in mind, it is appropriate that our September speaker will be West Vancouver's archivist, Reto Tschan. Reto will laimch the 2015/2016 Speaker Series on September 16th. Come and hear about his plans for the Archives; tell him your thoughts on the purpose of the Archives and where we may fit in this vision. The series has been organized by Board member Laura Anderson. We welcome a new member to the Board, Beth Fraser, a long time resident of West Vancouver I am looking forward to my term as President and working alongside an experienced and dedicated Board.
