V7V 2B4 phone: 778-279-2235 West Vancouver Historical Society West Vancouver Memories vol. 32, no. 2 May 20, 2015 Point Atkinson Lighthouse Update Under the leadership of Board member Elaine Graham, the Society submitted a grant application to Heritage B.C on April 30th to match funds with the District of West Vancouver for the restoration and painting of Point Atkinson Lighthouse. The support letters we received from community groups and individuals are very much appreciated. The next priority is the removal of lead-based paint from the Block House, which will be undertaken soon. Our Society is contributing email: wvhs@shaw.ca $5,000 towards this work. Once the paint is removed we can begin readying the interior for interpretive displays on the role of the military during WWII.
