They knew that it would be a long and arduous task to manoeuvre this labour of love through the political and logistical process. From the beginning the West Vancouver Historical Society supported the preservation of this important part of West Van's history. At first it was moral support and assistance with the collection of artifacts associated with the Lodge. It culminated in a Board motion to provide $ 10,000 to the cause to be given when the fundraising for the project was well on its way. This money was set aside over the years for that eventuality Well, it is well on its way now. On April 24. 2015 the Society presented a cheque for $ 10,000 putting the fund raising efforts for the Lodge renewal over the $ 1,000 ,000 mark.
