Progress Report on "Cottages to Community" Close to 2,800 of the 3,000 books are gone, 2,600 have been sold and 200 have been placed in stores or reserved for promised sales. T h a t leaves 200 available. We are predicting a sell out by Christmas. As promised the profit from the sales will be used to preserve the history ofWestVancouver Final figures for sales and profit are not yet available. However, approximately $80,000 dollars net is ready for distribution for projects.The plan is establish a fund of $ 15,000 per year for the preservation of our history. A Grants Review Committee has been established to consider applications for funds. Grants will be awarded twice per year in early November and early March.. The process of awarding grants will be reviewed annually and by Jim Carter adjustments made as needed. The primary targets of our awards will be the Archives, the Library and the Museum. Cut backs in funding to those organizations mean that their ability to preserve our history has been seriously impacted. While other applications will be considered for projects, ensuring the appropriate storage and availability of key resources will take precedence.
