April 2001 LIBRARY NEWS .^t^yfpr y€>y€i/f .4/UA4tey In late November of2000, some of you (almost 2,150 during a one-week period) took a few minutes to fill out our survey. We will publish a full report but here is a brief preview: 70% of you came to the Library to check out library materials. 90% of you check out books, 44% of you check out videos and 31% of you check out CDs. 88% of you found what you were looking for. 56% of you visit the Library once a week or more. 93% come at least once a month. 94% of you found the staff helpful or very helpful. 76% of you came by car. 45% of you also use other libraries with the main library of Vancouver Public Library being your favourite. You identified books, open hours and parking (in that order) as the top priorities for the Library to focus on during the next 5 years. Thank you again for taking the time. Sedigheh paints in watercolour and has exhibited in Iran, Vienna, the United States, Switzerland and Vancouver. She is a passionate artist who in addition to her painting has earned two Masters of Fine Arts in Iran as well as a Doctorate of Philosophy from the University of Arts in Vienna. % V Reception, artist in attendance, April 20,6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Most paintings are for sale.
