Many people are involved in the activities of the Foundation, as members of the Board of Directors or the Honorary Advisory Board, as committee members or as volunteer workers. The Library's Board and staff have good reason to be grateful for the efforts of this dedicated group. If you'd like to contribute your talents or treasure, please call Lillian at the Foundation office - 926-1380. REFERENCE DEPARTMENT At last, a quotation book that picks up those sayings that echo in our memories but that no specialized dictionary seems to contain, Nice Guys Finish Seventh: False Phrases, Spurious Sayings, and Familiar Misquotations by Ralph Keyes identifies who said what and dispels catchphrases mythically assigned to people or sources we all assumed to be the originator. The text is descriptive, giving historical background and reasons for a quotation's peculiar turn of phrase, or misattribution. This book contains both a key word and a name index; it has a bibliography and is well endowed with research notes.
