Surprisingly these totals were down only slightly from the previous year's record numbers, despite all the noise, dust and overcrowding caused by the current construction. Apparently it takes more than these obstacles, plus reduced parking, loss of the Youth Services activity room and uneven temperatures to discourage our users. We're certainly pleased about that I Last fall we set out to learn more about you. According to the survey conducted in November, 28% of our patrons visit the Library weekly, while a further 18% are here even more frequently and 31% visit 2-3 times a month. Three-quarters of you drive to the Library but more than one in five walks. Only 3% arrive by bus. Most people (3/4) come to borrow books, not surprisingly, while 20% are interested in the video collection and another 20% are here to use books or other reference materials in the Library. (Respondents weren't limited to one choice, which explains why the total seems greater than 100%). 84% of you find what you're looking for, according to the survey results, while 70% of those who do not are able to find an acceptable alternative.
