Now, thanks in part to a generous grant from the Provincial Ministry of Municipal Affairs, Housing and Recreation, the organization is being expanded to include the Bowen Island, Coquitlam, Surrey and Fraser Valley Libraries. Called InterLINK, the new organization encompasses over 4 million books as well as a variety of additional formats and information services. For West Van citizens, it means that you can register at and borrow directly from any of the 72 branch locations and return materials to any of them as well, all at no additional cost beyond what your West Van taxes are already paying for. REFERENCE DEPARTMEMT In order to accommodate the increasing demand for investment resources outside Canada, the Reference Department is attempting to locate reliable materials that fall within its budget. Hoover's Hand- book of Anerican Business and Hoover's Handbook of World Business are such a series in which profiles, economic overviews and 10-year investment histories of major companies are described. The profiles include trading partners and where companies do business and where profits are made. The Aaerican volume rates each company, from A+ to F. The World volume provides an economic profile of 66 key countries. Now that the tourist thrust is diminishing, locals may find room to wander their province. Why not try the inexpensive approach by consulting Pat Kramer's B.C. for Free (and alnost free)? There are copies for circulation, but they always seem to be out on loan, so it's a good idea to remember that Reference has a non- circulating copy which is always available to consult.
