First we have Community Day, on Saturday the 4th, when the Bookmobile will take its traditional place in the parade and the Youth Services Department’s Jolly Jesters will perform their captivating puppet shows for youngsters at the Recreation Centre. And at the end of the month, specifically Saturday dte 25th andSuruU^ the 260%, the Friends of the Library will again host the event West Van bibliophiles wait for each year - the Memorial Library book sale. Thousands of items will be available - reference works, children’s picture books, mysteries, cook books, biographies - in hardcover and paperback - all at bargain prices. There’ll even be some LP records, that fast disappearing commodity - remember them? It’s at the Ice Arena once again, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. See you there! One must go beyond the place name sources to discover that the city of Vancouver might have been named Coeverden, or Van Coeverden, to be historically authentic. George Vancouver was a descendant of the titled "Van Coeverden" family, one of the oldest in Holland, according to the Dictionary of Canadian Biography.
