Mai 94 LIBRARY NEWS CLOSING TIME Every day it’s the same story. People enjoy using the Memorial Library so much, they hate to leave! We ring the bell 20 minutes before closing time and flash the ligjtts a few minutes later, but some people are so involved with photocopying studying or browsing that they don’t go to the check-out desk until the actual closing time (if then), only to find the computer has been shut down and they’re unable to siffi out their books. We try to gjve the best possible service but we can’t afford to pc^ our staff the extra half hour or more it has taken in the past to deal with tite slowpokes and then secure our large building for the ni^tU Please help us by preparing to leave when that first warning bell sounds. We’ll be delisted to g^et you again at JO o’clock next morning. WEST VANCOUVER l<Elf<MUAL LIBRARY 1950 Marin* Drive V/em. Vanoonver, BC, V7V US Tet(fi04) 926-3291 Fax:(604) 926^95 On-line catalogne: 926-2594 REFERENCE SE A newly arrived Encyclopedia of World Geography takes the reader well beyond customary meanings of "geography." This 24-volume set includes country profiles, consisting of statistical, historical and political background, followed by extensive environmental and wildlife information, encompassing physical geography, the various habitats, animal and plant life. This timely encyclopedia should prove to be a beneficial starting place for the inquirer seeking background on any country as it is up-to-date and therefore includes the latest alterations to the world’s rapidly changing nation states. The frequent use of the term "Frankenstein" to mean "monster" is a mutated reading of Mary Shelley’s novel Frankenstein. It must be remembered that Victor Frankenstein (not "Doctor" Frankenstein, another common error) was the creator of the 8 foot monster. The confusion of egression conspicuously arises with the question of whether monsters or creators of monsters commit the real crime. ADULT IN THE GALLERY ...
