March ’94 LIBRARY NEWS BOOKS ON TAPE One of the least-known but best-loved services provided by the Memorial Library is the Taped Books collection. â€Taped Books†are actually works of fiction or non-fiction, including classics or recent bestsellers, which have been transcribed onto cassette tape by professional readers. Because they are unabridged, access to them is restricted by copyright to people who have been certified by a health care professional as being eligible for the proff'am, due to visual or physical impairment This is a highly personalized service provided free of charge and can even include the loan of a cassette player. The Taped Book containers can be circulated like regular books from the Library or Bookmobile, or can be delivered by volunteers right to die patron's home. If you or someone you know might be interested in this service, why not give us a call at 926-3291, local 266. Moving? Don't forget to let us know, along with everyone else! These are some of the every-day commodities covered in a new publication How Products Are Made: An Illustrated Guide To Product Manufacturing. Each entry provides not only iQustrated descriptions of the manufacture and workings of the product in question, but also historical background and a reading list from which to find out more. This book examines approximately 100 products. It is, however, designated as volume 1, implying the publication of future volumes covering different products. Not long ago, and still today in some circles, we called mayors of municipalities reeves. In Britain they refer to counties and territorial divisions as shires. By combining the 2 terms we derive the word sheriff. Might we therefore deduce that Mark Sager is also the sheriff of West Vancouver?
