We are looking forward to returning the 25,000 books stored for the past four years at Hillside School. This will occur nearer the end of the construction project. At some point we*11 be moving the circulation desk into the new area for a few weeks while work is completed in the main hall of the old building. Our official opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, September 18. We look forward to seeing you there! REFERENCE DEPARTMENT Technology shrinks the modern world for us by either bringing it to us electronically, or taking us to it aeronautically. Present-day frequent flying to once-far-off places is often taken for granted without appreciating the adventurous, enduring history of air travel. The History of Canadian Airports captures not only the trials and tribulations of Canada's flight pioneers, but also gives historical, geographical and statistical information and bibliographical sources from which researchers may begin. A refreshingly unique history of air flight. No Place for a Lady: the Story of Canadian Women Pilots, 1928-1992, reveals the greater struggles women faced to assert their skills as equal to those of men in what was considered exclusively "a man's domain." ^ V "^1 Our globe is likewise shrinking economically and politically as we enter the era of free trade, collaboration and partnership.
